Mi familia

So happy I got to hang out with my Alabama family prior to heading to Mexico. :)
This is my grandad. :) When we were taking the selfie, he said, "who's that old guy?!" Hahaha
Then we were off to lunch with these cool cats. :) My nephew Logan, and my niece Erin. So proud of the crazy, smart, hilarious peeps they have become!

My beautiful sister, Tammy!!

They gave me the coolest gift, too! A box with a quote about family to put in letters and cards people have written me, (hint hint!!) a family picture to hang in my new room, and Erin wrote out a bible verse in SPANISH for me, and decorated it all beautiful!
The coolest part was tah the verse she picked to write was my life verse! My favorite verse ever!
Romans 8:28-
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

I love when God does cool little things like that. :)

I wish I could've spent more time with them all, but I'm SO grateful that we got to hang out!

Well, you asked for an adventure...

"I will praise you in this storm" was ringing in my head as we drove through Alabama, headed towards my sister Tammy's house. We decided to take a day and visit with my family there on our way down to Mexico.
Most of the 14 hour drive was uneventful, easy driving. Then the sky got dark. The rain started. All of a sudden the radio station we had been listening to stopped playing any music or commercials, and went on tornado watch.
Thank God, we never actually saw a tornado. There was one a few miles in front of us, and one a few behind. God protected us!
At one point, the cities we were hearing on the tornado watch station began to look familiar on the road signs we were reading.
I texted a few people, asked then to pray, and prayed myself- mostly praying I don't freak out. Two of my friends replied at the same time, "Well, you asked for an adventure!!" Hahaha Not that kind of adventure!! :)
Here's my tornado face:
Guaranteed to scare away any tornado!! :) (Hey- don't judge- it worked!! lol)
We decided to pull under cover for a little bit, when they started threatening "softball-sized hail." (My first thought- "not my new van!!!!" Hahaha)

The prayers, texts checking in to make sure we were alright, and fb posts were so appreciated!
